Go through the process of titling it which is not as horrible as you may have been lead to believe -or- get it running and make sure the mechanicals are right and while you are doing that, look for a better truck, body-wise; one that has a better provenance and a real title or simply be satisfied to use it without a title.
TJ,

Not a bad suggestion. I've got a couple of years of work before this thing is on the road. So that's ample time to work on obtaining a clean CORRECT title. As for the former owner... I bought it from a friend who bought it from the widow. My buddy never titled it in his name. The title is still in the name of the deceased, with the usual bill of sale etc.

halftracknut,

Ranson, WV or for those not in Jefferson County; Charles Town. "West Virginia Light" "The cheaper side of Loudon County" and so on. If you are a true West Virginian, then my apologies. I'm one of those interlopers that moved from Maryland.

I am finally in the process of looking around for a place to go. Have to get out of NJ, It is just crazy and it has gotten worse with the last banker governor. Looking south/ southeast. I am not set on a state other than gun friendly and low taxes.

I'll bet Rick wants to leave the cold behind, after being in NJ.

Kuranda Rick. Tropical climate, no traffic jams, city of Cairns near by, plenty of 4WD West and North up Cape York...

Love to Howard but they took all your guns away already. They haven't gotten that far here yet and I am certainly hoping it doesn't happen in my lifetime.

Darn. I knew there was a reason :( But if you know how to play the system - friend of mine has a 3 inch mortar, artillery piece, several hand guns...

No worries! I was going to reply sooner but replies from my phone were hitting an SQL error.

West Virginia is a constitutional carry state. Open OR Concealed no license is required. Although even after three years down range I still find it odd to have a conversation with somebody and see them packing. Say while doing Christmas distribution at The Salvation Army...

As for the MUTT I did a bit of work last week when the weather was nice and before I went out of town. I stripped off the rotting ROPS netting and cleaned out a lot of junk. Next will be unbolting the additional other accessories. She already looks better without all the junk hanging off like some sort of bad Rambo Jeep. I hope to do a little this weekend. But then I'm overseas for a month so alas not much can occur until March.

Not much to report. Bought some canvas rear seat cushions from TNJ Murray at Aberdeen. From my understanding the back and bottom are supposed to be different but that the bottom will work on the back. So for $20 I have a pair of NOS I guess bottoms? Whatever it's two canvas covered cushions and they represent the first parts I bought for this truck. I picked up some spray paint so that any parts I do actually get to touch while home will be left green. I also grabbed the correct canvas tool bag.

The bigger money drop is I ordered from them a complete underbody repair kit. I'll be getting that later and stowing it until I have a chance to completely dismantle and flip upside down the truck. But the way parts are going for these it's more economical to have the part in and then money in the bank.

Good to hear from you, Rustman. I stockpiled parts for several years when I bought the Alley Cat not knowing that I would end up owning an A2 on top of that one.

My Great Big Box Of Everything is paying big dividends now.

So, if you are in hoarding mode, may I suggest that you shouldn't neglect to buy the little things, such as carb kits, gasket sets, seal/sleeve kits, u-joints, etc. They're good things to already have on the shelf because when you're feeling wrenchy but you have to wait for parts, well, where's the fun in that?

Pics! We must have pics!

Cheers,
TJ
