I wonder who makes them for Rural King? There are only a few major battery makers.

Home Depot does carry automotive batteries, by the way, and for what I consider to be a fair price.

Following your thread, I made a point of looking at them last night and I didn't see any 51 series but I did see some suitable batteries there, provided you're not too hung up on getting something the perfect size.

Cheers,
TJ

Yea, but those ones above are AGM's and at that price I would snatch a couple or more since I have gensets that use them also. I never even heard of Rural King.

It is a Farm and Home store.

I was in Walmart tonight and there is a line of batteries.. I forget the name that many were $48.. The batteries said made by Johnson Controls. I did not find a match to the 51R the other brand Ever something.. the 51R was $107.

For less than $100 more, I'd go with a pair of the AGM batteries. As Fil said, none of the downside issues of lead/acid batteries to deal with.
As a side note, while at Rural King, head over to the food section and grab a jar of "Amish Wedding" (Troyer Foods) brand Jalapeno Pickled Eggs. You can thank me later.

Well I was wondering who makes them for Rural King and I think I have my answer, I looked a little further into their inventory and they also carry Exide. One of the largest battery makers in the world.

But at those prices, even for the Exides, I may make a side trip this year to Front Royal, Va. when I go to the Virginia Rally to pick up some batteries!
