M151 A2 Head Light Replacements

Unread post by bill warren » June 28th, 2018, 3:48 pm

Hi Fil, et al.
One of my original front low and high beam headlights has blown. Before purchasing a replacement from https://www.armyjeepparts.com/ I thought I might consider getting two new LED lights if they fit into 7"/ 24 Volt set up.

Any suggestions on pricing and where to get two new LEDs to replace originals ?

Thanks,
Bill

Look on Ebay for best prices.

Check out these headlights. Just got two for replacements just in case. How can you not buy these with free shipping and no tax (in Texas). They are U S made and still sealed in the original box. With the buckets.

Wow, great price and free shipping!

If considering LEDs, I'm not sure of the M151 would have the same issues, but the HMMWV Facebook folks who have switched to LEDs seem to say that all of the lighting would have to be switched, not just the headlamps, or problems will pop up. I can't say for sure, and I'll bet someone here on the G has insight.

The headlights stand alone. They have been flawless for years . Trucklite is the brand.
If you do composite lites then there are other Problems.
Did it on mine and had to work through some flasher issues.
