I got the drivers floor in today. There was a lot of fitting and checking before I began welding. Glad to be this far.

Nice work, nothing like new metal in this hobby, I bet the contactor in that welder is ready for a break,, keep the pics coming, the resto section needs more action.

Thanks Hambone!

I have been busy making patches and welding in new floors. It is getting closer to sand blast and epoxy primer. I need to post here more, but have been lazy and spoiled with the ease of the Facebook platform where you can easily post photos and descriptions from a phone. I don’t even own a home computer anymore.

I recently made a form out of 2”x2”x3/8” angle and shaped it to the progressive radius of the M151 top fender side. I made it as a form or buck to straighten out my dented lumpy fender edges. It is completely reversible to either fender. I used my 2x rivet gun, with a polished flush set rivet face to act as the other side of the die.

This inside 2”x2” die was hand made, initially I used my milling machine to taper the edge. For the rest I scribed layout lines and hand filed the radius. It took me about two hours to file the progressive radius, but the die is forever now. Even guy is not replicating this radius detail in his fender tops due to the expense of a CNC made die.

I will post some pictures as soon as read how to again.
