When you get that thing running keep in mind you are not 20 and invincible anymore.

And make sure it has modern tires on it, those old tires were deadly when they were new!!!!

Definitely a new pair of shoes, you can still get some good tires with the vintage tread.

The original tires had that squared off profile which means in a turn you are riding on a pencil line of rubber. Old Harleys had tires like that but they were really bad since they had hard sidewalls. Making a turn on a wet road with them was exciting to say the least.

That is quite an involved and expensive job to get it certified airworthy again, But I am sure you will have fun with it. That place must have been to you like a junkyard of old cars is to me. Looks like there were a few choppers in there.

I was just a helping hand getting it loaded and trailered home. Funny fact that my friend sold it while we were driving back. A few pictures with the thing on the trailer did do the selling job.

It is very complete with everything there and working. Even the old flag dispenser from the time before GPS is there. That baby will fly again in no time.

Not really in a barn but in a garage for the last 25 years. Given that the car is 92 years old, that’s of course only a smaller portion of it‘s life…

Took me a while to understand how the starter works as there is no button or switch. Fixed the flooding Carter carb and now she runs nicely. Not a car for todays freeways but good for a cruise around town. Expect it has no turn signals and only one brake light.

Only thing not working is the freewheeling unit. But they discontinued that feature a year later as too may people killed themselves using it downhill.

No worries, I will stick to the three cars I own. All the rest are my friends cars. Every time I am visiting, I am helping to get one or two running.

Plus I have plenty of work on my own ones. Suzuki engine is now at the machine shop. Did not try to start the bus last few years. Ran when parked ;)
