hi

i had a problem
my engine was stopt
at lpg and petrol not running
we tow it to my shop put a new coil in stil not running
it had stand for the night next day it runs
i had low oilpressure
the sump was filtup with petrol
with a lighter it burns at the dipstick :shock:
the menbrane from the fuelpump was leaking
trow the ventline at the pump the petrol was also to the inlet
the engine was stalling from to mutch fuel
a new pump and oil and the mutt runs again :D

conclusion is it is not alwais the ignition :shock:

Hopefully it did not run so long that it ruined the bearings! That is the main problem with the fording vent on the fuel pump. That vent is there for the main reason so that if the diaphragm breaks you will visibly see the gas running out of the side of the pump and stop running it. Without being able to see it you are doing two things, first is you are putting gasoline into the oil through the cam actuating lever hole and second you are filling the air cleaner with gasoline from the vent line. That can get real exiting if you have a backfire through the carb.
