Looking into selling my Ford Mutt

Unread post by 70mford151a2 » October 4th, 2021, 11:50 am

I think I'm going to sell my MUTT, I never drive it and it just sits there, ready to at any moment. How would you go about finding the right buyer who knows what it is and can appreciate it.? Thanks Dave

First question is still why you don't drive it? I don't drive mine very much, but it is perfect for running errands or any other short trips in good weather.

I have a feeling that Facebook could be a way to sell it. In my own experience the former close knit network of military vehicle owners does not exist anymore where you would simply pass it to the next guy but there are still enough folks out there looking for them.

well to be honest I don't know what it's worth, there's little to no Bondo on it, if there is it's strictly cosmetic, there is some fiberglass around the battery box area, but I have shrunk most of the big dents away over many hrs I have some pictures from when it had its own hanger at Naples Airport. I'll post pics maybe you can give me a ballpark. it's a 1970 M151-A2 in good condition maybe even great I have never sold one so I don't know a good base price. I am trying to post pictures

When you post make sure it is "full editor and preview" and then at the bottom left will be an attachments button. Follow the directions from there to copy pictures direct from the computer.

I'm pretty sure the 1st Florida group of the MVPA is having their fall rally in a few weeks. I would think if you trailered it up there, you could get all the information, interest and advice you want and would probably come home empty trailer but $12k or so in your bank account. JMO.

I would think a 1970 Ford A2 would be worth quite a bit more than 12,000. If I remember correctly he spent a long time restoring this one and 70 Fords are pretty hard to find.
