It's come to my attention that the early version of 24087 was the dark green OD which was changed to the brownish OD in the 70s. Now the original OD is 24084. This explains the variance between a part I sprayed with recent 24087 and the remaining good paint on my jeep. Plus the NOS tool box panel I bought does not match the modern color.
Who has painted their trucks with the early OD version? I had been wondering about this a few years ago and now it seems I found the answer.
I have the formula for 24084 and it seems that it is available in Behr paint from Home Despot. Anyone used that paint?

The 84 spray cans I got mentioned in thread matched close to the underside where the black undercoat flaked off. It also matched close to a NOS mx-2799 antenna with the antenna having just a slightly more brownish tinge to it.

I know a lot of the guys on Steel Soldiers have used house paint to paint their big trucks due to the amount of paint needed. Most have said good things about it.
