Looking for a working 24 volt "GE" headlight for my 1977 A2. Mine work fine, but I had to solder the 3 leads at the back of the headlight. They came apart after I removed the headlight. Just looking for a spare should this happen again, it was a pain to solder without someone helping to hold the lamp, but I did it. Thanks

I use the GE or Westinghouse 4800. I cut the 3 wires off my old bulbs and fit them to a 3 prong plug.

Good idea, a pair of 3 prong connectors on Amazon or local auto store is $9.00, all you need is a little solder and shrink tubing. #17 to high beam, #18 to low beam and #91 to ground and you're good to go. Now you have 1/2 price headlight bulbs.

You are right Ham, #17 high beam, #18 low beam and 91 ground. Looking at the face of the 3 prong connector the center should be #18, the right should be #17 and the left #91, just do a test on each with a jumper wire before soldering or if you get them mixed up just swap the tags around.

In this photo looking at the rear of the connector that is upside down the right and left wires are reversed, the center blade on the light will be at the top when installed.

Very slowly! just about finished all the body work I wanted to do, rebuilt the tranny and transfer installed all new wiring getting ready to put all the brake on it then wheel shafts and U-joints then the drive shaft U-joints then I'll try and rebuild the Diff"s. after that I'll decide what color to paint it. I recut the rear wheel opening and rounded off the front fenders.

Oh, and different tires and wheels so I need to swap out all of the wheel studs to use the Acorn style lug nuts!

It's looking good, slow progress is better than no progress , I was wondering what color you would paint it, I came real close to painting mine a sand color. I bet TJ will regret getting rid of it when you're finished with it, I thought about rounding the fender and footwell but decided to keep it as original. Keep us posted on the progress, restoration section is a little slow. I'm about to start a M715 resto, I will stick it in the oddball section.
