Why the differential backlash measurement difference from the early 70's manual .009-.016 and the last manual .022-.036 Thanks

Probably the different series of differentials. 900 series and 1100 series. I do not see why there would be a backlash difference though. It is possible that they may have found that the higher heat was causing interference issues. Long shot but all I can think of. I would lot set my own anywhere near that far out.
