Power pack

Unread post by kwb » August 5th, 2022, 8:49 am

I have a power pack I would like to start up on a stand. Question is, will the coil or the starter be damaged if I run it on 12v? Thanks

It will not start on 12 volts, the starter has got to have 24 volts. The coil may or may not run on 12 volts depending on coil condition but if it has electronic ignition it has got to have at least 18 volts to run the ignition. Points don't care about voltage.

Thanks for the Info Rick. I'll run it with 24 volts.

That would be the best way to test it.
