he put a new one in and it is ok
the second and thirth gets also black and give no spark
now i have seen his sparkplugs they look the same as a autolite bud the construction looks a bit different
only there stands resistance and 2245 MS- 35909-1 the MS code is for a 2243
a autolite 2245 has code MS- 35909-2

I have a bunch of the 2243 plugs, they are a colder plug and supposedly can be used for the M151 but I have not tried it yet. I plan to use them in my M37 but I am thinking they may be to cold for that engine also. Biggest problem anymore is finding the 2245 or any of the equivalents. It sounds to me like your friend is needing a hotter plug. Or a smaller jet in the carb. Has the carburetor been rebuilt on the M38A1?
