Noisy Heater Motor

When I put my heater blower motor on hi speed in my M151A2, it sounds like a B17 coming in for a landing. It is significantly quieter on low speed, but still very noisy. I'm trying to determine if the squirrel cage is out of balance or if it is the actual motor with the problem. I've had several other MVs with heaters and all of them have had noisy heaters, but not nearly this noisy. At least the heater in my A2 puts out good heat. I had one M35A2 that was extremely noisy and it turned out that a mouse had chewed through one of the metal blades on the squirrel cage making it out of balance.

Yeah, I was amazed that mice would want to chew metal and even more amazed that they actually could chew metal. They also chewed some of the plating off of more of the squirrel cage. I'm assuming the plating was zinc. The metal was very thin gauge. It was a real pain replacing that squirrel cage.
