Brake drum specs

Unread post by Rossco » July 17th, 2023, 4:26 am

Hi all
I have been out of contact for a while with life in general getting in the way so back into my Mutt restoration and final New Zealand registration and compliance to get it back on the road so its all legal!
One of the tough rules in NZ I need to cover off the brakes which generally have to be as they left the factory when new, which includes the brake drums being the original standard size (or very close with one skim to restore the original finish/surface)

I am picking this question has come up previously?
What is the standard factory diameter of the brake drums on an M151?
And what is the maximum oversized diameter they can be machined to?

My 4 drums currently measure 9 & 1/4 inches in diameter.

The -34 manual calls out that 9.19 is the minimum if that makes any difference.
