No front bankers

Unread post by Mark » November 5th, 2023, 12:24 am

Ok, had no headlights, had front blinkers, put a new light switch in, have no front blinkers the tail light blinkers work, the turn signal bulb on lever blinks. So it can't be the flasher in foot/clutch compartment? The headlights work.Aw, another ghost!!

hi

the front directional and rear directional /stop lichts are from the directional switch
so if the front one`s not work it must be the switch at the steering colom
look at the switch if there come`s power at the wire`s

switch to left
front left wire 461 pin B
rear left wire 22-461 pin C
brake light right side 22-460 pin E

switch to right
front right 460 pin A
rear right 22-460 pin E
brake light left side 22-461 pin C

switch midle
brake lights both side 22-460 and 22-461 pin see above

pin G wire 467 hot from three-lever lights on or service stop
pin H power to flasher unit A at flasher unit
pin F flasher pulse from flasher unit B at flasher unit

Do the front lights work in the four way flash position?

Halftracknut is certainly right about that..... and now is a good time to remind everyone that EACH of the mounting bolts of the compoosite lights on M Series vehicles do double duty. They also serve as grounds.

signal light problems are usually bad ground from signal switch to steering column .....sand both to bare metal and tighten clamp....

HTN, I have to disagree with the ground to the column. All that does is makes sure the indicator light on the signal unit works. I have tested many units to make sure they work and I have them just hanging from the wire harness not even attached to the column. All the signals work just fine. The only thing that does not work is the indicator light on the switch. All the switch does is pass the power from the signal control on the floor through a set of contacts and out to the light. So no ground is needed for that. Now, with that said, if none of the lights were flashing you need to check the grounding of the flasher unit mounted on the floor.

hi
rick
the flasher unit gets it ground from the wire C --- B is power -- A puls out
this go at the wire 57 the same as at the dashground
it sits at the same bolt left inner fender as the alternator ground

only no front both sides is the switch
