Oil cap gasket
Looked through this forum and technical manuals. I can find the oil filler cap but not the gasket. Anyone know the part number or where to buy?
Re: Oil cap gasket
The part number is: MS35769-18. It is in TM 9-2320-218-2O. You can also make a gasket yourself.

Re: Oil cap gasket
Glcaines,
That’s the part number for the crush gaskets on the transmission and differentials. It should be a rubber gasket right??

Re: Oil cap gasket
You are correct. I screwed up. I would recommend making one yourself.

Re: Oil cap gasket
The gasket "should" come already on a new cap.

Re: Oil cap gasket
I didn't want to buy a 30 year old cap and gasket so I found a great alternative. Continental aircraft engine oil cap gasket, part number 533355, fits well. It's a little sloppy on the center post but seals well and keeps the cap tight. They sell for $4.00-$5.00 at most online parts houses. Hope this helps others.
Re: Oil cap gasket
That's also a standard-sized cap.
You might just as easily gone and gotten a standard cap (like a Dorman product) and then transfer the gasket over. I would encourage everyone to avoid getting too far down in the weeds when it comes to stuff like this. It just makes for a bigger headache than it really ought to be.
A properly sized gasket is a properly sized gasket. End of story.
Cheers,
TJ
