OLDEST MUTT ALIVE !

Unread post by sarmadq » April 11th, 2009, 2:32 pm

Just a thought, the forum has quite a few members (I can't say exactly though) and there must be others who have 838s and are not members of this dedicated channel, but who out of all of us has the OLDEST operational MUTT?
Those who claim to have, can I see pictures ?

Kudos for that who has it, in advance :)

Mine's 26 years old, i.e 83 production.

Late 70s and 39 years?? Can't be. Late would be '77+ so that would make it somewhere around 32ish ;)

I'll chime in with my 1964 Kaiser M151, but there's older on this board :D

I've got a 1960 M151. The plate says 1964 but after cleaning it up we found that the dual air vents (orgional) and the stamp on the floor behind the drivers seat (Run #1) meant it was a 60 model. I've never figured out (taken the time) how to post pictures on this site so hopefully this shot turns out.

my father in law has an early Ford.....I have to look closer at the DoD. Anywhere I should look to find out? I think he said '60-'61? What is that stamp?

The run stamp is located just to the rear of the drivers seat. It is on the floor. With the seat down and locked it would be about an inch to the rear.

I'd like to learn more about the early ones. Post your pictures and tell us about them... I could easily see getting sucked into restoring something early :)

the 1960 mutts also had run#1 stamped on one of the channels underneath, and a serial number on a foil tag on the channel/frame rail forward of the motor mount on the passenger side.

After the grandkids leave today, I'll pull Pearl out and take the pictures of the Run #1 stamp. I've searched for the foil tag under the hood but I guess after all these years, it's gone.

I don't have the oldest but in order 1966 (43 yrs old) 1967 (42 yrs old) 1978 (31 yrs old). Man when you list them this way it puts into perspective on how old these vehicle are.
