Anyone have a pic of a mutt w/ the "tailgate" panel off??

Unread post by Motorcityman » April 15th, 2009, 7:04 pm

I went crazy with the spot weld cutter, started yesterday and haven't gotten too far, lol. I got the bracket on the left side off (holds the seat frame) and today I started on the spare tire carrier. Holy Sh*t is that bastage on there, i worked on it for almost three hours and it's still not off. Has anyone taken one of these off before? also I need to see what an A1 looks like with the back panel removed, anyone have an illustration or a photo of one during restoration? Thanks, Joe.

Thanks, but no. I'm looking for the back panel removed (spot welds cut and sheet metal taken off). I went through about 25 pages on G503 last night just doing some reading and came across two threads of information that i'm looking for. It doesn't seem anyone takes pictures when their doing a restoration on these trucks, very few anyways. I am going to do a step by step pictorial just so people know what their getting into.

One guy on the G said it took him 4 days to take the panel off and five days to weld it on :|
