DOT 5 Fluid
Is this stuff available at local auto parts stores or do I need to get with the normal parts vendors?
Re: DOT 5 Fluid
It's pretty easy to find...just look for the highest priced brake fluid on the shelf..

Re: DOT 5 Fluid
I too use DOT 3 in my Mutt and it too works fine. We don't have DOT5 available in the market.
But I've heard theories that DOT5 is thicker and thus more effective in Drum Brakes, i wonder if its true.

Re: DOT 5 Fluid
It is no thicker, it is just a silicone formula which is not hygroscopic. You can run either one, you just don't want to mix them.
