What you need to keep in mind is that you have a 72 horsepower motor pushing a 2,200 lb vehicle. You are never going to have a race car with this motor no matter what carb you put on it. Mine gets pretty good gas mileage.

Rickf there yr fuel price is much lower than in European countries,,especially here in Greece while the greek goverment is putting a lot of vats in all things soooooo the point is that making a ride with our mutt costs a lot.My firstly idea was if there is an economical carb neither a power carb!!

No matter what carb you use there is a formula which I do not remember all of it but, It takes a certain amount of fuel to create a certain amount of horsepower. It is actually rated in kilowatts. It take a certain amount of horsepower to move a certain amount of weight a certain distance. Put those two together, It takes a set amount of fuel to move a set amount of weight a set distance. The only thing that can change that equation is V/E, volumetric efficiency. These engines are terrible in that category and you will not easily change that without spending a LOT of money. We are talking higher compression, rework the head for a free flowing exhaust, premium fuel for the high compression.

tads why my mutt is on LPG now
i earn a euro the liter petrol to LPG petrol €1,54 LPG € 0,58
before i had enough petrol with a light amount of diesel in it for my mutt
i am working a lot less now so i have not much mix now
LPG works fine the mutt has more response at the throttle

I have had the chance to drive one running on CNG, and its pretty good in terms of running on the road but put a trailer behind it and have four people ride with you and then well, its not good enough, but hey it solves those PITA carb problems. The one i drove was still running on its original carb.
What scares me is the part where a cylinder is fitted on the back, and when it heats up in the sun, most of you can imagine the pressure which builds up. Its practically a bomb but aside that its good enough for a decent ride around town.

They say that hydrogen fuel cell technology is the power of the future. Saw a special about an Ohio State University group doing some testing at the Bonneville Salt Flats, and they made them stay a km away from the solar, NG, gasoline, alcohol, and nitro powered vehicles. I'm not sure which one I'd rather be burned up by, but hydrogen might be the quickest way to go, solar could take weeks.

Elemental hydrogen is an incredibly dangerous gas to work with. It has a low ignition temperature, must be kept under high pressure, it reacts violently with many other chemicals, and because it is the first element in the periodic table of elements, an atom of hydrogen (which is really just one proton and an orbiting electron) is the smallest possible atom. Because of these properties, it is very hard to contain. It has a reputation for eventually leaking out of just about any container it is held in. I certainly wouldn't want to be in any automobile with a tank of it on board. I had a college professor who used to say that hydrogen always was, always is, and always will be the fuel of the future. The only way I could see hydrogen as the fuel for a fuel cell on board an automobile would be using another fuel to strip the hydrogen out of. But this would mean carrying around a lot of weight in the fuel tank that doesn't end up as fuel.

If one mixes gasoline with diesel in a diesel car lets say 10% of gasoline in a full tank of gasoline, can you get more horses out of the engine?

I'm not sure if it would give any more power, but it could easily damage your engine. Gasoline is not designed as a compression ignited fuel like diesel is.

diesel is ignited from the high temperature tad is made by the compression
petrol ignites in a explosion diesel burns slowly
the fuel in a diesel is injected before the tdc and burns slowly til max pressure in tdc
now the petrol explode wrong side of the piston tdc (explosion is to early )
the engine will get hot and will not give the power you want
a multi fuel engine is low compression engine
so it can have it
only a high fuel consumption (see a M35 truck )
a other problem is the lubrication in the fuel system
petrol is a solvent it breaks down the (diesel )lube inside the injector pump and injectors

You can get away with kerosene in the fuel but gasoline will take out the pump and injectors pretty quickly.
