You claiming war-baby status here?

Old enough to have driven a 151 in service,
Young enough to still be in service.
Old enough to know better,
Young enough to do it anyways.

Saw Sheldon from Jeep Panels yesterday at Weare.
He is going through some serious medical issues and may be slow in responding.
Just be patient with the guy.

I have a question regarding these under body parts I bought a set from one of these M151 parts houses and am somewhat confused
they lack any directions surprised?-- but I just assume that ( by physically holding in place that the go over the panel that's there
hence the holes that overlap the floor boards that you fill with weld and it seems to be a little bigger to fit right over the original ones
am I crazy ??? cuz I had a guy come out and give me an estimate this guy said he was in the motor pool in the army when they were still using
them anyway he said that I had to replace the original ones with these . as in cutting out the old and repacing with my new ones
and I 'm sorry that just don't seem right. wouldn't that be a huge pain in the ASS I don't think he's right and I havent done anything yet
but would one of you Gentlemen Rick Rainman somebody please give me some advice. and thanks in advance

P.S. the rust thats under there is gone just a couple holes that's why I got the kit I figured they made that kit cause they are prone to rust right there in front of the seats

Hey 70M,
I have seen the manual the guys are speaking of, and it gives a detailed weld types (fillet, overlap, etc) with each area of the kit to be fitted. No, your friend is mistaken, they fit OVER the old rails and are welded without removal of the old metal. I'll need to look closer, but I think the small underbody kit I picked up at the Mid-Ohio came with a page of instruction. Just yesterday I unloaded it from my 416 trailer and brought in in the house . I'm sure by now you've rec'd and read the pages being sent.
