MOCK's day out

Unread post by sarmadq » August 1st, 2009, 5:15 pm

Mutt Owners Club of Karachi (MOCK) invited a few others for a mud bashing day out. I was pretty impressed by my rig's performance, esp with the new carb setup.
Vehicles include were 3 MUTTs, of which one was a diesel, 2 CJ7s, again one was a diesel, an M38 & a 4.2L Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40.

Though we were unable to get a stuck CJ7 out, even with the use of a 9000lbs SuperWinch. The darn thing had centered down on mound, in water.

This one's a diesel MUTT.

The stuck CJ, had to be pulled out by a tractor eventually. It broke 6 recovery cables and straps when attempts were made to pull out by other jeeps.

Sometime back I discussed about quicksands. Well we managed to hit one and MUTT sank quick and gave little chance for a reaction.Pulled out like hair from butter by the TLC

The TLC FJ40 was a beauty and the beast with its 6 cyl 4.2L engine.

Hey Sam,
Great pictures. Guess now your the resident M151 vs quicksand expert. :D I didn't know there even was a MOCK. Always nice to hear a positive report about your new carb too.

Thanks guys. I actually came up with the MOCK idea after seeing quite few plying on the roads. So far haven't been able to get many on board, but events like this posted on local forums would encourage people I guess. As for the carb setup, I'm happy and when there's no option but an option then I think its worthy for a try.

Sherwan, yes the FJ was a fine vehicle. Though he's only had the electronics, mechanical & brake works done so far. The paint if you look closer is the same, just a fine & deep rub of brake oil to get the original finish out. Says its going to be a work in progress for sometime.
Can't say anything for peoples choices on rubber man

I've been thinking that ......... BUT shall still keep the MUTT :D
A friend reported today that he saw some nice ones for 240 (non-starting position)

This one above costed the guy 350 after adding the yokos.
