Deer Hunting

Unread post by sarmadq » August 19th, 2009, 10:35 am

Well, now that Rainman touched the topic I thought it would be good to give the details and like he said, in a separate topic.

What do we have here in Pakistan from the deer family ?

1) Black Buck
2) Chinkara or the indian Gazelle
3) Goitered Gazelle, hunted like hell by the Arab Royals
4) The Hog deer
5) Musk deer
6) We have a very small population of the barking deer, but that is strictly captive and in a couple of parks around the Capital. Hunting is not allowed of this breed.

What do we hunt with .............. Well we use Guns. dhuzz dhuzz, bang bang..... Remingtons to AK47s whatever maybe available, but the hunting license is given only on rifles & no automatic weapons. Anyone caught gaming without a licence can have the weapon, ammo, vehicle and himself impounded to face legal action which includes fines and/or imprisonment .......... that's as per the law.

There are two big deserts here, The Thar & The Cholistan deserts. Most of the deer hunting is done there.
There's no restriction on eating deer meat as it is a 'halal' animal.

So far, only have a friend's pic with a shot & loaded Chinkara.

.....You gotta know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away, Know when to Run !
You don't count your money, sitting at the table
There'll be time enough for counting
When the deal is Done !......
