Color shade?

Unread post by sherwan_88 » September 8th, 2009, 1:20 pm

Hey Guys,

Beeen having a lot of trouble with the law lately because of the Mutt being "Green" , so have in mind to change the color to tan, since color codes don't work here, so i'm looking for a Pantone Color no for the Standard Army Desert Tan. Any one have one?

Thanks
Sherwan

If you can give me a couple of days to bring my paint chart home from work I can match it to Diamondjim's.

Someone else may be quicker.

Sherwan,

Before you go ahead with a color change, you might want to check up with the local MP unit whether you can have a tan, too. (I presume its the MPs bugging you)

Jim's color is very close to the desert tan used here & if i'm not wrong each unit must have a certain % of their vehicles in that color. Better to check :!:

Sherwan,

How about keeping the green but in a lighter shade. I'm sure the vast amounts of sun in your area takes its toll on paint over the years, so why not make it look like a sun bleached OD?

Rick,
I'll wait on it, just let me know at your convenience.

Jim,
These codes don't work. Only thing would work is Pantone, but anyways Thanks for the help.

Sam,
Its not just the MP's, its the Police, Its the Traffic Police, its the Regular Army, its Intelligence guys, heck the civilian people don't leave it alone. It gets so frustrating to get pulled over at every corner for just having the a Green Mutt aggghhhh!  Fascists!
I would rather switch to something else than be bullied by people who survive on our tax money.

Cobra,
Green won't work, if tricking it out worked, it would already do, because i have beige and black on that green and still they don't like it.

Sherwan, I have the chart in my hand but before I take it home I want to make sure the numbers are what you need. This chart is not marked as a Pantene color chart but it is a commercial paint chart. This is just a sample color called Harvester and the number is SW 6373. If that number is a usable number let me know and I will take the chart and match it to Jim's Mutt.

Sherwan,
my mutt is currently in a paint shop in Karachi and I'm about to approve a drab olive green sample or as close as I can get to it! Why have you been getting into trouble with the law for driving a "green" jeep? Are their any restrictions???
Regards,
Kamil.

Sherwan,

So if you can't paint it green, desert sand, or camo, how about a nice shade of white? Just think how cool it will be with the hot sun. If you still get pulled over than just add a big black 'UN' on the hood.

Ralph,
That invisible mutt will solve the color problem for good. :D

Rick,
i am not sure if that code works, because the color mixer guy does not have it, he works from Pantone no.

Jim,
Thanks! will check it out.

Awol,
I've been told that retired MV's should be in civil attire, the army guys did serve me a notice to change the color within 15 days or my ass is headed to a military prison  , i don't know whats what but since its becoming a real problem driving the Mutt around, i will change the color for good.

Cobra,
If nothing else works then white it is. I am not sure about sticking a UN sticker up front though :D
