Structural Strength Points

Unread post by sarmadq » November 6th, 2009, 4:31 am

Hello all,
I wanted to know what areas on the M151 are considered the structural strength points of the tub so that one is careful of those areas, interms of messing around. I dont want to make a hole and attach anything if that area hold my Mutt in shape.

Specifically the sides. Would making other openings in the side for drainage undermine the structural integrity :?:

Know when to fold 'em

If you stick to the flat sheet metal and stay away from the formed edges you should be alright.

On my mutt, the right side sheet has completely seperated itself from the battery and tool box sheets, but i haven't seen any damage to the rails, or the structure it self, but that i think is my stupidity to not repair it the soonest. I agree with Rick, you don't want to screw around with a mutts body, which itself is 28 years old or maybe more.
What are you up to anyways?
