Francis,

Smith and Edwards is the place. They really don't know what they have but the last time through in 2008 there were some mutt parts hidden in various areas of their yard. They had a few A-2 gas tank that looked good but I wasn't in the need for one at the time.

We use sand and deicer on the roads here. The deicer is about as bad as salt but the sand sure tears up a paint job.

I just called Smith & Edwards yesterday and all they have is gas tanks and seat frames. I'm not overly concerned about the salt and sand this year since I plan on stripping and repainting the MUTT within a year.

Francis, It is not where you can see that the salt attacks! It gets in the hat channels and body panel joints and eats away from the inside. It is amazing just how fast it eats the metal also. In one season it can turn a new piece of 18 gauge metal to swiss cheese! Now I will give you three guesses what gauge your mutt is made out of.
