Guess what I learned.

These are not snow tires. 3 trips to Home Depot yesterday showed me that but it was better than the alternative, my motorcycle.

Good photo Francis! Just don't take her back out once they salt the roads :!: :!: Bet you caused a lot of head turning at the Orange Box :D

So why is it when you pull a mutt up to a red light and the guy next to you is in a Jeep, or Hummer, with everything on it that one can buy from JC Whitney, and he can't even bring himself to look in your direction   I figure there are only two type of folks that love jeeps and off road vehicles, those how have a mutt, and everyone else who wish they did

This has been my daily driver since I've been home. I have noticed that I am not the only one getting enjoyment out of driving it. We drove it to lunch at a small mom-n-pop restaurant and when we left there was an older gentleman on the sidewalk that just stood there and watched me drive out of the parking lot and down the street. When picking up my son from high school one of the school girls ran up, banged on the door, and told me that she just fell in love with my "jeep." I get lots of honks, waves, and salutes.

Cheap? I just had the local tire shop price some for me at $126 each plus $80 shipping for 4. Where are you getting yours?

Francis,

Have you been to the surplus place west of Roy, Utah? I can't remember the name of the place but it's a huge place and it does have some m151 parts but you have to look through all the out buildings.

I'm not familiar with anything just west of Roy. Smith & Edwards is a little farther north and just west of the freeway and they are huge and advertise, "We have anything you need, if you can find it." Last summer I call them looking for parts and as soon as I mentioned the M151 they gave me Jack Tomlin's phone number.

Back on the original topic, that experience was with half an inch of slick snow on the roads. Once we had 4-8 inches piled up I put it into 4-wheel-drive and the MUTT just loved it. The deeper the snow, the better the handling. I was starting and stopping like I was on dry pavement while everyone else was slipping all over the place.

After I sandblasted the bottom of mine, I learned that road salt and M151s don't mix well.
