The resesses in the front fenders for the turn signals are interesting.

No radius to the edges. The sides at the passenger openings are angular not round. Fenders at turn signals are all right angles. The front of the fender looks like a Ford A2 with the notch not there. I am not familiar with this variation of body.

Anybody out there know about this vehicle??

Hey Cstaup,
Okay, I give up, who'd he pictures come from? These were taken yesterday at the Marlboro Volunteers event. :D Not sure where I might have been, but I was probably near the food or the women. I sure didn't see OMGM or Cstaup on location, but there were at least 5 M151's on site. The bumper in the foreground belongs to new G838 member firedupsdriver.

Funny, I never noticed there was no axe slot before. Maybe it's just an optical illusion.

Pheeew, dodged a bullet on that one, maybe. Now I'll have to go over there and explain that it's not an Encore! Must have been early, as I used my A2 as a billboard posting event flyers for Shiloh, and the Mid-Ohio shows, and ran out o Shiloh flyers mid day :P . I was set up with the airsoft M16, C rations, helmet, M-60 linked empty casings and radios for the civilian visitors viewing. What was conspicuously absent from the Saturday festivities was the civilian visitors, but hopefully they recovered for Sunday. Very large area, like 300 acres of living history capabilities, though attendance is not worthy of the effort being made so far. Low overhead and generous members keep the momentum of the Marlboro Volunteer's moving forward, though this was the first MV show/swap meet they have held. The fall event brings in the crowds. I didn't see more than 30 or 40 visitors all day, yet we were having antique plane fly overs all day long. Great time, saw many old friends like Mark Wilkerson, Don Shaffer, Dennis Davis, Pork Givens, Tim & Angie, Richard, Larry Baswell, Ted Mathies, and Tom Woboldt. Nearly half dozen each M151's, M37's and M35's were on display, as well as many other vehicles. Nice show that I hope blossoms into a state wide level event. Those guys make a heck of an effort to represent our hobby, and enlighten with living history, all who are interested. http://www.marlborovolunteersinc.com/index.html

 Because I forgot Richards last name I abbreviated his first name and it came out "baseball bat and balls". but he's an M151 owner. He did a great General Patton impression at the TMC convoy Wooster, OH layover.

I was wondering that, myself. The Encores I've seen had A2 style turn signals but A1 style (flat)fenders.

Hey Moose,
I would have left the new guys hang out there wondering what it was, but since YOU asked, I tracked down the most recent 200 word description. If I knew this was coming up again, I would have posted the A2's pictures in the local newspapers from 2 of the Memorial Day parades it was in this year. :D
Here we go again...

"My hybrid has all original floors and channels, battery box, tool box, windshield, firewall, inner fenders, rear panel, and hood. But it's not a Growler, a Titan, or an Encore. Many knowledgeable folks have looked at it real close, and all are amazed at the work that was done to redo it. Guesses of "weird top cut or crush demill", "experimental body", and "sheet metal worker with way too much time on his hands" have been offered. Nobody is sure why it was done, even though the "how it was done" is obvious. All agree it's still an M151A2 and not an aftermarket vehicle put together in Florida or NC, but nobody is sure exactly what it is other than a hybrid. To a non-purist, it's better than an original. Personally I own both, and appreciate each one of them for what they are, and what they are not. The hybrids weigh a few hundred lbs more due to the heavy gauge steel in the new panels."

I will add that it was NOT CUT and done in Indiana nearly 15 years ago, but have yet to trace the origin of the reproduction panels. I am going to mount the axe hooks and shovel bracket with pioneer tools to make it a little less obvious, but those front fenders and he sharp angles at the transition points will still stand out to those of us in the hobby. See there Rick, that was almost painless
