Re: What you need for a mutt radio install
Does anyone have the inventory/datasheet/instructions for the sponson plate? I have a sponson plate that I want to mount, but it came with no paperwork, and I want to install this correctly. There are more than a few holes in the fender area, and I'm sure it will line up. The first picture in this sticky shows a mounted RT-524 unit but didn't show the vertical bar all the way down to the floor. I am also curious about where the extra bars are used, the bag contained 8 nuts, 8 bolts, 16 star lock washers, and one flat washer.
I am mounting this on the passenger side and have the MT-1029 in the AN/GRC-160 configuration with AN/GRA-39. I do have a power amplifier PP-770 that amplifies the power either to 5W and 50W, but not period correct for a Vietnam era MUTT.
I have seen too many incorrect pictures with makeshift plates, the sponson plate on the fender without the long vertical bar or MT-1029 on the fender etc and just want it to be right. Thank you in advance on your input to this.
Cheers!
