fuel sending unit

Unread post by snuffy » December 2nd, 2010, 12:50 am

I have a fuel sending unit that I got at TNJMurray or Saturn Surplus for my 151. I haven't installed it yet. There's no doubt it's the correct one.....I've seen hundreds of them. But here's where the plot thickens. I ordered a sending unit for my M37 for an old well respected military parts dealer.....and got a unit that was essentially identical to the one for my 151???? The old one off the m37 is longer (taller) and the float arm is about twice as long as the one for the 151.

Anybody know what gives? Could it be the one on my m37 is wrong?

hello

if you hold the unit beside your tank
mounting plate hight as on the tank
see if the float can get in the below bottom and max up position if yes ok :D if not :(
if yes put a wire from ground at mounting plate and your original wire to the sender
(put the contact on ) now you can check if the meter give full and empty
