Wiring diagram

Unread post by ppauto » January 21st, 2011, 11:30 pm

I'm looking for a wiring diagram for the early M151. My original wiring is badly deteriorated. I have a take-out from an A1 but it looks very different. I will probably have to wire it from scratch. A diagram would help. Is there a tech manual that would show me the diagram foa a 1960 M151?

TM 9-2320-218-20 on page 2-86 figure 2-43 shows a wiring diagram in the sept 1971 printing. it states below the picture that the diagram is for the 151 and the a1 model, as well as the 718. so if you have an a1 takeout, it should also work for the early model, at least according to this manual. good luck, and let us know
how it goes.

Yes, I have seen that diagram. I'm looking for a diagram with the 25 amp charging system. Surely there must have been a Tech manual prior to '71 that would have had the early diagram. The M151 was in use in 1960. Was there not a Tech manual at that time?

This has been the most helpful diagram I have come across and have used it as a guide to rewire 4 Mutts so far, I have used it on all 3 model Mutts and have used A1 and A2 harness's, This diagram is from TB 9-2300-228-20 , 8 July 1960

PP,
here's the pages you need...from TM9-2320-218-20 18-Jul-1960 (that should be early enough :D )

If you want higher resolution pics, e-mail me.

Rick, the circuit numbers and wiring diagram should be in all the -20 TM's , in my Sept. 71 they are on page 2-85, 2-86,and 2-87. If you would like a copy of the one I posted I could e-mail it to you.

Mr. R, Ken already sent it to me. Thanks. It is still hard to see but I will work with it. The main thing that I see that is different from my 68 version is the tuirn signal wiring. I could have used that when I had to rewire mine.

I really like that "blow it up and put in on the garage wall" idea. Those are really words of wisdom. I have a copying machine at the office that'll take it up to 11 x 17 inches. I'm going to do that for my 151 and M37. SMART IDEA!!!

Thanks to all that responded....I may paper the whole garage with wiring diagrams!!
