even though i own an A1, thanks to a fellow jeeper from san jose, a ham and radio guy to the max, i now have a complete working intercom set up installed. feel free to rib me about it, i have a thick skin, but this allows me to talk to my passenger while driving and also protects what hearing i have left. i am pleased to have been referred to glen by none other than kurt lesser. thanks to both for your help on this project.

salt6, that's an issue radio part designed for the 1029 mount. there are several members here who have them, and i got mine from frenchman several weeks ago with this project in mind.

its the accessory hutch, normally there would be two TSECKY-57 voice security (scrambler) units mounted on top of it.

steve, i had been looking for a little while after seeing one on a jeep owned by htn. when frenchman learned i was looking, he had found a guy who had two, so he bought them and sold me one for my A1. they occasionally show up on ebay. they're kind of heavy, so shipping is a bit high, but the metal is sturdy and thick, to support whatever you put on it, and it also protects your radio. it worked out well for me as you can see, so i was able to drill on that shelf, and not so much on the actual jeep.

steve---12 1/2" deep---10 3/8" high---16 3/4" wide. the cable hole is a 2" diameter, there is one of these holes on each side. each of the 3 pieces has a right angle turn on both ends, so that it all bolts together from 2 directions, and the lower turn on the sides mate up with holes in the 1029 mount.
