New Project

Unread post by Cobra5 » May 11th, 2008, 12:09 pm

Hey guys I thought I'd share my latest find. It's not a M151 but it is OD! I got it for 750.00 which I think is a steal so I couldn't pass it up. Hated to see someone turn her into something other than what she is. She is all original with a title. Still has most of the military markings that were just painted over.

Hi M-11, Nice find and what a price, I wish I could find one that reasonable, I have been looking on the G-741 site but no luck. Oh well, I don't have the room right now anyway  .

With a little bondo and a spray can, it could look like this in no time.
This vehicle recently sold on ebay for $18,000+

Nice looking M37 Dodge....What year is it? Is it the B model? M37s and M151 served side by side so no problem with having both... :)

rickf,

I'll make sure I paint it and my A-1 in the same OD scheme with matching unit markings. Not sure what the mil spec for the paint is but would the glossy green on both be correct?

I am pretty sure green would be correct, a dark shade of green. If you are not particular on unit then contact Ralph. I am pretty sure he had both vehicles under him in the 323rd. I am pretty sure that is where he was, then again I am not even sure of my name anymore....... :? :?

24087 is the correct color for the M151. and probably would be okay for the M37, especially if it was ever resprayed during its service. There are a couple of brands, but Gillespie seems to be the consensus on which is best.

yep 24087 with semi-gloss white for the stars and markings and you'll be good to go... :)

Nice looking M37's. Ours is still looking as it did after we dragged it home last September. Being in Ohio, the winter months are not really the 'lets go play outside' kinda weather. Eventually we will get around to it though, and it too should be fun to restore. I didn't notice either of the M37's shown having a hard top, ours has one, but it has some bullet holes that hubby wants fixed. I told hubby to keep the holes, they give the old work horse character.
Later dayz,
