Should we stay or should we go?

Should we stay or should we go?
The question for today, is this:
Should this site continue or should it be shut down?
I've received comments that the site is good to have, its nice having our own place, etc.
and I've received comments that it should shut down, I'm segmenting the 151 community, it'll never be as good as G503.
I'm curious what the consensus of opinion is here... There's no point to this if no-one wants it, theres plenty of dead M151 pages out there.

I say shut this site down, all it is doing is fragmenting the M151 community with yet another web site. People don’t have the time to look at the sites that are already out there as it is!!!!
One of two things happen, somebody will ask a question here, but the guy with the answer won’t see it because he doesn’t check this site, or know about this site. Or People will double post here and on the G, and People will get tired of reading the same thing twice, causing them not to bother to look at all, anywhere!! It already happens with some of the MV email lists.

Keep it up. It is not that hard to check two sites. I don't think it's diluting anything. You're a very likeable guy and have the personality for being a fair moderator. The site has a lot of cool features that I don't understand, yet. (I still don't understand how this Karma thing works, duh on my part.) Back to the question: there are lots of dead pages, but you have over fifty members and it's growing. There are guys that post here that actually know what they're talking about and post answers. It's a pretty interesting and helpful bunch. here are a few *interesting personalities* but there always is, that can be a little frustrating at times for some of the guys but this group is pretty good at dealing with that. I don't have any beef with with G503. I respect Ron and all his cronies. I will check both sites. I strongly recommend NOT putting in a politic forum. I really enjoyed the old politic forum on the Gee, but it caused a lot of division and strife. It's just too polarizing and people become personal.
Keep it up. If it doesn't work it will die on its own. Besides if someone doesn't like it the don't have to come here.

poll
I voted in favor of this website. It's a more update forum concerning layout , tech , etc.....
I think we can make it work as long as we can stay on topic so no politics in here. And if we can make it interesthing enough they will come here on their own.
cheers.........

Hey Jim,
You already know my position on this question. others may not. I am
no longer a member at the other site. I assume most members use both,
not me. I'm here and only here, but that's my boycott. I still boycott
Exxon for the Valdese incident. So it's not as busy as the other site,
but most of the folks I enjoy hanging with, are here. Some even with
new names! My opinion may not be worth much, but you have my
commitment. Hell. you can have my financial backing if needed to keep
going. I vote to stay up and running. This site can survive with
volunteers, no need to draft anyone against their will.

I firmly think it shoud stay up and running. No offense Ron but the issues that brought down the wrath of the moderators are still present and who knows........................
I visit both sites equally with no problems and really no more time involved then before.

I am just tired of seeing the hobby get splintered. As it is, I spend about 3 to 4 hours a day answering questions electronically, on web sites and or by email. Just trying to make the point that it is a lot of time to look everywhere info is hiding, why would you add another place to look???

I see your point. There are lots of M151 sites out there, I'm sure. I'll bet HK has posted on most of them. These are the only two message boards that I regularly visit. I'm not trying to sell surplus parts and gear so it's no big deal for me. If everyone was on one site someone is always going to be the dominate poster. Someone is always going to be the guy that rubs people the wrong way because he is curt or condescending and people will leave. I feel comfortable in these two communities. So far yours is the only negative vote. We'll see what happens, I remember Angelo's site, that's long gone now too. This site has some nice features and most the people interact well.

I thought it was normal to discuss the topic of a poll. Why does it need a separate thread? Rick you posted comments and you don't want anyone else to?? Is this some new forum etiquette I'm not familiar with. You're doing what frustrated everyone else at the Gee, micro-managing and moving posts around for no apparent reason.

Spike, You are right, I did. Once it started to look like it was going to overpower the intent of the thread was when I added the post. If that is wrong then I am sorry and I will remove it when I get home this afternoon.
