Photos of Eastwind M151s
With Eastwind ended, one of the few things we all seem to agree upon is that we are keeping our Mutts. Over the years they have been great fun. We have also collected many good looking photos of M151s in the field.
As a starter, here are half of them in the line up. The other half were on patrol at the time.
Here is another out on patrol.
I am sure there are many more, just need to pick them out.

What's with the uniform? Are you in the service or anything?
When you go to war, you go to war all the way. You don't go to war piecemeal.
You go, and you go to win.

East Wind was a reenactment set in late cold war Europe.
Aside from that, yes, Stagg is a current service soldier although the guy in the picture is not Stagg (but he was a Soldier too)

I just noticed the hard top in the back ground, that is a lot of stuff to unbolt for a weeks worth of fun! And then bolt back on.

Its not getting bolted back on for quite a while. It was a bit of work getting it off, and worth it. The windshield is over there too!
Here is a pretty good one of Swayze driving his out for a patrol.
Eastwind seems to draw quite a few Soldier's, Airmen, and Marines. It has also created as many or more new ones!
I am currently a Soldier, but my first uniform was issued to me by the Air Force. They were BDUs.

Re: Photos of Eastwind M151s
My M151 (6001) completed it's last East Wind patrol today.
175 mile run back home to Kansas City from Wyandotte, Oklahoma.
Pretty uneventful trip, weather held out well, and we stopped off here and there for a few nice breaks.
Pics (not great from my phone)
Zoom zoom zoom down U.S. Highway 69
Ok, got it, MAX SPEED 65
And, it seems to do it fairly easily. Let's here it for super duper maintenance! Actually ran most of the trip at around 55-60.
Stopped off at Ft Scott for a tour of the place. Ft. Scott was primarily a Mexican War era post that guarded what was once the western Frontier of our nation. This was the duty board out of the Dragoon company office, strikingly similar board to what we used for NATO at East Wind.

Just so you know, those speedometers are notoriously optimistic. Mine is off by 10 MPH at the speed you are showing, that would actually be 55 MPH. It will run 65 but not "easily". It will be matted to the floor with a tailwind going downhill.

And just to prove two things, It can be done AND Rainman is crazy.
BTW, He was towing a 416 and had the windshield down in that pic. Note his description of the tires!

Double checked it with the GPS, it's actually correct.
Just humms along at that speed. Oddly enough about 45-50 is the annoying speed, sort of hits this particularly noisy harmonic right in that range that will drive you nuts.

Well done.
Re: Photos of Eastwind M151s
Ah, that reminds me.
Admit it, M151s do get stuck.

Curfman's Ambulance
Inevitably every Mutt breaks down during its first year at Eastwind.
This one had an intake manifold leak, that was hard to find until we stole some starting-ether from the deuces.
Nothing to be done here... if you want to drive it this year, pull out some choke and keep going.
