Took it off the rotisserie, and have it on the lift, ready to start putting in the engine.
Thought you might like to see the condition of the frame, considering all the panels I had to replace. I was actually surprised at how good it was. The very rough looking stuff is undercoating that did not come off with sandblasting. The passenger side cross member was damaged by a side impact, so I fabricated a patch for it.
This next one shows a considerable dent in the frame.

Re: 1964 M151 Kaiser
Y'all might find this amusing.
When I test drove this truck, the differentials performed OK, No real noise, but the seals leaked pretty bad. I had seals, so I pulled the drive shafts and installed them.
Of course, the first thing I did was to drain them. Out ooozzzed this thick brownish stuff from the black lagoon. Of course, there was oil over it, but the whole bottom of both were gummed up.
So, After installing the seals, I needed to rinse out the goop. I left the fill and drain plugs out, raised the truck on the lift and move the parts washer barrel under the front diff. I lowered the truck close to the tank, and put the fluid hose in the fill hole. Then turned on the pump and let it run for a half hour. I drained it, and then did the same with the back. Then put my scope in and checked it. Clean as a whistle..... not any whistle I'd put my mouth on, but clean. The best thing was, no leakage from any of the seals...

Good idea, I would have just added a length of hose to it though but hey, it's clean.

The problem with having a rebuilt engine sitting on the test stand for six months is that it is very tempting to steal parts off it for your other projects......... Now I have to dig out and rework a distributer and find that carb I had rebuilt.
Any suggestions on where to tap the engine to get the windshield wiper vacuum when using a mechanical fuel pump?

There should be a plug om top of the intake manifold towards the rear of the manifold if I remember correctly. Or if you want to hide the connection you can put a Tee in the line connection that is already there on the back of the manifold.

Got the engine installed today. All connected and the clutch adjusted. Monday I'll spend the day bolting on all the smalls (hood latches, lights, grill, hood, windshield, etc. After that I'll touch up all the paint holidays, including new grade 8 fasteners, and then get it ready for stencils. Brake bleeding is the last task, put on the top, and take this puppy for a ride. Pics will be forthcoming.......

Yesterday, before installing the engine, we test ran it again, with a newly rebuilt distributer. Runs great. Here's the video.

After flushing out the transmission, the same way I did the differentials, I finished most of the work under the vehicle. Taking a day off to take care of some stuff at home, and some personal business. My plan is to finish bolting on the smalls, I'll connect up batteries and get it running.

Re: 1964 M151 Kaiser
Yesterday was very Frustrating. Worked on mounting up a bunch of the smalls, then decided to tackle the windshield.
First order of business was to install the glass. I struggled, but finally got the rubber gasket around the split glass, with the center piece in. Then started easing the rubber into the recess at the front side of the frame. Half way around, with almost no pressure, the passenger side glass split from the bottom up.
I have other glass, so I'll try again today. I'll first check the groove one more time to make sure there are not glass chips in it. What a pain!!

I replaced the glass, and got the windshield all set and mounted. Looks good. New vacuum motors and tubing.
Got the NOS replacement rear drive shaft in, and mounted it. Should make for a smoother ride.
Next week we're going to touch up the paint, get it marked, and on the road.

Re: 1964 M151 Kaiser
Final painting complete and a struggle with some stencil errors, but we finished this one up at 2:30 yesterday afternoon, just in time to drive it to the Veterans Day car show in Jupiter. We won 3rd place out of 200 cars, but seriously, the MUTT was a ringer. Veterans Day show..... Purple Heart Plates.... Flag, AK47 and Vietnam uniform on the seats...... and judging was a popular vote. How could we loose? We had the only military vehicle there!!!
Now it's up for sale!
