Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2019

I found that San Diego no title M151A2 listed on MILWEB.net, http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/view_large.php?ad=96794&cat=13 Currently asking 5500, so 500 more than the CL listing. "Runs and drives well, new brakes" UPDATE since posted: The link on MILWEB is accurate. The poster just called, identi...

A great reference. Not too many across California, but there IS one about 45 miles away. Thanks for the tip fellas!

Re: Transmission/Transfer Oil Change

Thanks Rick. I was already very familiar regarding the pivot pin, based on previous posts. The LO has a nice graphic showing the right spot. I'm surprised the pivot pin wasn't specifically ID'd in the LO as a "no-touchy" item to the end-users.

Transmission/Transfer Oil Change

Well, everything else is finally working. I have also changed the engine oil and both differentials fluids. Now that I have laid in a supply of the copper crush washers for the drain plugs, it's time for the trans/transfer. The LO shows a different "drain" plug location for each section, but only on...

Southern California Vehicle Source

I've just returned from visiting a location in Rialto, California that has a few acres of vehicles including several M151s, both A-1 and A-2, plus a pretty complete M718 frontline ambulance. The ambulance does not have the top/frame, but solid body with extensions. The A-2 is turn-key complete, stra...

Spare Tire Mount

Looking for a take-off piece that is welded to the spare tire boss, and extends through a spare wheel stud hole. Has hole through the extended part for using a pad lock to secure the spare n the truck. I don't think this is a loose piece through supply channels?

Re: Parking Brake adjustment

Well, thanks to you all, as this thread provided a reminder that I needed to check and adjust my hand brake. After more transitions from the drivers seat (working through the removed transmission cover opening) to under the truck than I care to recall, I was able to make the adjustments resulting in...

Re: Question on colours

I'm pretty sure that this would depend on the time frame of manufacture of the individual parts. Every 3-handle light switch I saw come out of a box was OD with white lettering. BO drive lights were painted OD (metal) or OD plastic. Instruments (gauges) were OD. Finish would vary as well, with semi-...

Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2019

I run mine once a week to keep the oil moving through, etc. Once started, mine runs well (1/4 choke) and once warmed up a few minutes (then no choke) she will restart with no problems all day on a single crank. Next day, she is still easy to start, maybe a couple 10 second cranks with the 15 sec co...

Re: WTB NOS master cylinder gasket

I went with Red River as the local auto parts stores did not have the proper copper washers/gasket. NAPA provided ones that were correct inside/outside diameter, but wrong thickness. The larger one also lacked the compression rings tooled into the material. It looked like a duck, quacked like a duck...

Re: Xenon Searchlight (not mine)

I was browsing through ewillys site when I saw an ad for a running A1 located nearby in Ojai, CA. When I visited the truck, it wasn't really in the shape I wanted, but the seller said his uncle had an A2, which I ended up purchasing. Very interesting site!
