Re: 68 M-151A2 w/trlr on CL 6,500

Rick, I agree, it's actually a lot of value for the price, especially when you figure in the M416 which is included in the sale!

Test Set Tachometer/Dwell

Guys, I stumbled on a complete Test Set, Tachometer, Dwell and it jumped into my car. Set made by AUL Instruments Inc. The TM is 9-4910-700-14&P, June 1981 NSN is 4910-00-788-8549 What are the capabilities and power range for a set like this? The power references only show 12 volt, not 12 /24. Has a...

Those Rhode Island engines look (externally anyway) like they've had a good life.

Re: 1974 M151A2 Project

His website has shown the lower side panels for some time now. He also has the angled lower portions that would be the extension of the lower rocker panels as they run along the front/rear fender openings. I need the rocker panel sections and the fender edge panels as well. I imagine this would invo...

Re: 1974 M151A2 Project

That's OK, as none of the 1/4 tons I drove/serviced over 10 years in the Army were factory-fresh. Heck, I was able to track down (using the vehicle log book paperwork in the motor pool) that the A1 I drove for the company XO at Ft Hood was the same one my older brother drove when HE was the XO drive...

Re: 1974 M151A2 Project

Well kids, I believe the time has come to shift the focus on this 151 from mechanical restoration to somehow improving the rather work exterior appearance. Working on things mechanical might have been challenging, but there was always an available reference and the forum boards for help. Now, howeve...

Re: Turn signals not working.

Well, I jumped under the dash and saw that the signal controller was of a type I did not recognize. Did some on-line comparisons and found that what was mounted was an older style, suggesting that perhaps it was past it's prime. I ordered a standard replacement (the type I DID recognize), swapped ou...

Re: Carb Choke Linkage

Rick, you are sooooo correct. I was trouble-shooting yesterday, and relaized just that, that the idle stop screw rode the choke linkage, resulting in the pressure on the linkage. When disconnected, it flowed with no resistance. I pulled the screw-in fuel filter off and found some type of sediment in...

Re: Carb Choke Linkage

I'll check later today. The tank was boiled out and repaired when I installed it, all lines are new (steel and rubber), just added new fuel pump and filter, Rick rebuilt the carb, new inlet filter, new choke cable.......... When the cable is disconnected, as it sits right now, the choke linkage feel...

Carb Choke Linkage

One for Rickf.... I have been experiencing throttle problems recently. Truck runs great, then suddenly starts to sputter, die out and even after fluttering the throttle, will die. Starts right back up, runs a short time, then seems to starve itself out again. When this happened the first time, I was...

Re: 91 octane ethanol free gas question

https://www.sunocoracefuels.com/fuel-finder?city=cincinnatti&state=Ohio&zip=&fid=&range=300 This is from Sunoco. Shows a few locations around your target area. If you follow their link to their various fuels, you'll see quite a variety of lead/unleaded fuels of various octane levels. They appear to ...
