Re: More fuel issues, i guess?

Ok, so it isn't the carburetor. I fiddled this weekend, and it has to be a distributor issue. If i loosened the nut and adjusted the timing, i could get it to run a little better, but then when i tightened that bolt back down, it would run AWFUL. No matter what I tried, i could get it running great,...

Re: More fuel issues, i guess?

Engine is still fairly new from rebuild. Only probably 500 miles on it, so I doubt its something like that internally.

I messed with distributor yesterday a lot, checked to see if it was tight, anything burned up or missing, and all looked acceptable.

*throws hands in the air*

I just dunno!!!!!

Re: More fuel issues, i guess?

rick, I will have to look and see which model is on it. I only run avgas in my MV's so there is no issue with the pump being too old or bad in this particular case (though i know that does happen with regular fuel over time). Also, this fuel pump isn't old enough to be worn out. It was working great...

Re: More fuel issues, i guess?

TJ, I am running an off the shelf filter from NAPA. The carb is the pre-emissions type with the adjustment screw. I have tried adjusting the screw to make it go away and that didnt help at all. It isn't a coil issue, as I changed and put in an NOS one, and the results are identical. And it doesnt ma...

More fuel issues, i guess?

I have been having issues with the A2 for a while and have spent a lot of time trying to research the issue, both here and calling people, and I am at a loss. While running and driving along, out of nowhere it will just sound like it is sputtering and going to die. If i leave it in gear, it will obv...

Re: Tan Canvas Front Seat Bottoms

The insides of them are that old ass material that is under the canvas in M38A1 and MB seats. (that grass looking crap, not sure what its called). Thats whats inside of these, which makes me think they are old style, not new manufacture. Not to mention I found all of the Tan stuff in a crate from an...

Re: Tan Canvas Front Seat Bottoms

No. They are not painted. They are Tan canvas. I spent 3 hours on my knees next to the bathtub cleaning them up with soap and water. If they are painted, I would know.

Re: Tan Canvas Front Seat Bottoms

They definitely made Tan Canvas seat cushions, I have some, and have seen others. I just have never actually seen the lower cushions on the front seats. All others I have seen before. Who knows, probably made so few, and they got used up fast!!!

Re: A2 doesn't run right when you let out clutch

Once you have gotten going (after double clutching, or whatever) then it rolls like hell. You can gun it, and its fine. Its ONLY the first time you come off the clutch after being in a new gear.
