Doesn't "road test" usually involve a road? Not stairs in the snow.          I don't think I would have tried that one even as crazy as I was back then. A little slip to the side and that was gonna be quite a ride.

Hey, they say any press is good press right? LOL. It’s always good to spark up some conversation. It will be sad to see it go but great to get it in the hands of someone who can give it a good home. With my daughters at the age where we’ll have cars, college (maybe trade school), and possibly weddings all hitting in the next 0 - 5 years I’m trying to make sure we’re not getting ourselves underwater. My dad has a few other MUTTs that came from the same lot from DRMO (2 ex ARMY M151A1s that were adopted by the USMC and an ex Army M151A1 that was adopted by the USN) so I’ll still have some MUTTs to wrench on luckily.

Was this registered in California? The hand-stamped date plate might have been an effort to guise the presence of the emissions equipment and original date of manufacture. That date is significant here in what used to be the Golden State, as a gasoline-powered vehicle built after 1972 or so would have to be "smog-certified" to be registered for on-road use. That's where the spurious data plate info would come in. My own A2 has a hand-stamped data plate saying it's a Ford made in 1970, using a serial number that doesn't match any number sequence/series for other M151sm per Ken.

But DMV said, uh, Okay, and registered it. Go figure.

What year do you believe it was made ? Does it have a BUDD tag ?

No, no BUDD tag. The horn serial number plate states 1972 for year of manufacture, and appears to be in place for quite some time, as if original.

I really don’t have anymore info on date of manufacture. Price reduced to $11,500. Text or call 559-905-1235 before 9PM mountain.
