Red River sold me the two copper washers for the master cylinder. Worked like a charm.

Your new Master Cylinder should have came with the brass compression washers. If not, any auto parts store should have them. BTW, I am sorry to hear this. They are one of the hardest things to replace on a Mutt. It sucks.

Make sure you get the correct sizes.
Each side of the bolt is different in size.

I went with Red River as the local auto parts stores did not have the proper copper washers/gasket.

NAPA provided ones that were correct inside/outside diameter, but wrong thickness. The larger one also lacked the compression rings tooled into the material.

It looked like a duck, quacked like a duck..... but still leaked when installed. Only after searching by the MS number was I able to obtain proper replacement, not at NAPA....

I'm confused. I thought the crush washers were flat copper and the brass muti-fitting had the rings. Rings would be pressed into the washers once you tighten down on them. If the washers had rings would that not mean they were used?

I bought an assortment pack of copper washers at OReilly's and they all had the little concentric rings on them. I still think annealing them is the best bet.

Cheers,

Make sure you are using both... one below and one above the bolt head. Last time I checked I believe these two places also had them. Got mine from Mike's.

NAILED IT! That right there is probably why 99% of people who have leaks.....have leaks! That would be an easy thing to overlook.
