WAIT A MINUTE HERE!!!!!!! Dataplate?! The dataplate is not put on the vehicle UNTIL it is assigned at the military depot!! So this vehicle WAS in the military's hands at some time. Am I right or wrong?
Was this something that was changed with the AMG contract?
Rick, yes, it was. TACOM who took the lead in ordering on behalf of the other Branches of Service decided that dataplates were to be affixed to the vehicles at the end of production. TACOM also dropped the requirement for the "DELIVERY" date box and the "INSPECTED" box to be stamped. That's why any AMG-built M151-series dash dataplate does not show the delivery date nor the inspection "Eagle" stamp.
According to TACOM, the Quality Assurance checks during production meant that all vehicles that were delivered met the standards originally agreed in the contract. The date of delivery was no longer needed as TACOM's recording systems were able to determine that date accurately and efficiently. I'm not so sure about the accuracy, having looked at some of those printouts.

Surveyor, is that the girl from Yellowstone ? That is Michael Landon's daughter. !!!
Same. Teeter from "Texas" on Yellowstone. One of the few TV shows I really like lately. Just hope the series ends well. I was born too late for Bonanza, but lord knows we watched a ton of reruns.

Yellowstone is the best series out there. Awesome modern western. Beth is from the UK, and she hides her accent dang good.

Everyone interested in this M151A2 has a second opportunity at purchasing. The winning bidder of $7,600 sent a deposit then flaked. I have relisted it as buy it now or OBO: http://ebay.us/TwI1ha?cmpnId=5338273189

The last time I sold a vehicle on eBay was my M35A2 tricked out with movie prop gun, troop seating, winch, and coms system. Of course the winning bidder didn't have money, and I waited 3 months for him to get a home equity loan. Just my luck.

Hopefully this one works out. I had a similar experience years ago on a motorcycle. Dude won the auction, then backed out. Thing that bothered me the most was he was in his mid 30's. It wasn't like it was some teenager. Being a good human is hard for some people.

Hey, at least you got the deposit, hopefully it was at least 10%. Expensive lesson learned by the buyer. You should have contacted the second in line to see if he was still interested.

Based on what people are asking for a standard 151 in similar condition I was thinking that truck would sell in the $6,500 range as it's unique. I didn't fall out of my chair when I watched the auction end at $7,600 as it is a total one of a kind. As Rick stated, someone really wanted it. For the serious collector, I can see that value. Or, maybe it was someone who worked there and purchased for the nostalgia value. Definitely a cool find.

Guy
I think the Buyer over paid. Lots of rust and a crappy floor.

Maybe all that YOU see is "a crappy floor".

What I see what is a one-of-a-kind truck with a verifiable history taking us all right back to AM General and providing some limited insight to the inner workings of the whole process of making these little trucks. There is VERY little of that to be had, friend.

Yes, it may have had a lowly existence but if your vision is limited only to the condition of the sheetmetal, God Bless you!.... Someone who recognizes what this truck is doesn't need people with no real understanding of its value upping the bid price... Nope.

Guy, that was meant for me. I am guilty of buying a rusted and busted P.O.S Mutt for 5K. Never again.

You are not alone there, Mike. I've been known to go on that same walk of shame. Just ask our friend in Clearwater about the pile of rust I bought, just to get one usable rear frame piece. LOL. That being said, I only paid $300 for it. Turned out to be worth it, but I scrapped the rest of it.
