A very good example of the result of taking a pressure washer to the canvas. "Restoration" is a term with zero meaning in most for sale ads.

Frame off for a unibody ? Restored to what standard ? Appears to be a M151 with many “personal” changes. To much mix and match. Being from the Great State of TEXAS the one thing that jumps out to me....TEXAS license plate on rear. Apparently someone is not aware of licensing of a former military vehicle in our state. Oops, had a senior moment. This vehicle doesn’t qualify as a former military vehicle because of so many changes. To qualify for “former military vehicle” license, vehicle must remain “maintained to represent its military design and markings accurately”. A former military vehicle properly registered in TEXAS is not subject to inspection by licensed inspector. Working windshield wipers are part of the inspection. The vacuum wiper switch has no hoses connected. I need more caffeine.

What is the round hole on the passenger side panel in front of the rear wheel? That a bubba hole?

After some more caffeine to calm down.....A2 windshield with electric wipers. How about that square tubing front bumper.
Parade ready with that shiny paint job. Looks like the old “linseed oil” wipe down.

...on the other hand, it is an early model with lots of the early stuff still intact. But too rich for me.

Re: Found on CL - (Not Mine) 2020
The hole in the side is where the AB-15 antenna would have gone through. Nobody mentioned the A2 tailights. Correct air cleaner but A2 fuel pump and direct to carb fuel line. One correct single horn hood latch and one new style hood latch. The already mentioned bumper and A2 windshield. The aftermarket trailer hitch. The square mirror. Does have the correct seats and E-brake. No Blackout lights. Wrong tires. Heater but no slave plug.
BUT, It is shiny! That has to be worth at least 9500.00 of the price!
Judging by the surroundings this person is used to talking in big money.

Spot on Rickf about the surroundings. Owner of Jeep likely paid to have it “restored”. I will be searching YouTube for the video of the restoration. May be on Motor Trend on one of their programs. It won’t be on “Roadkill”. Cost is about 19 thousand out of their budget. Reminds me of the Johnny Cash song about building a car one part at a time.

Ok, Keep in mind that the purpose of this forum is not to trash someones vehicle. It is to point out discrepancies. I am sure none of us has a perfect vehicle, I know I sure don't. But if I put it up for sale I don't want someone digging up every bit of dirt and airing out all out online. This is something we do here on the forum sort of tongue in cheek, we do not take it seriously. If someone asks me what I personally think about a certain vehicle they are interested in that was posted I will tell them but I will do it in a PM, not on the open forum.

Completely agree with what your saying Rick. However, when someone posts an ad and claims "Frame off Restoration" on a 151, they kinda open themselves up for a little flaming...rickf wrote: ↑August 31st, 2020, 11:48 amOk, Keep in mind that the purpose of this forum is not to trash someones vehicle. Agreed, but keep it here on this thread and don't drag it out forever. Surveyor has created a pretty nice resource here and I want to keep it kind of clean. I know I refer a lot of people here from other forums and places when they say there are none for sale.
