A comedic L-shaped ambush perfectly executed. Well done.

A couple of pretty good deals there. The engine is not a 70 since it is an earlier A1 at least. The bell housing has the cover for the manual starter lever which was only on the early cold weather setups as for as I know. It also has the early front radiator support mount. Has the A1 style E-brake handle. If all original that would put it between 64 and 69.

Rick..... pretty good and pretty close too ! Contract started Feb 1966 up to Mar 68, when the DAAE06-68 contract began.... which was the final M151A1 batch).
Happy New Year too, ol' chum. :D

Kind regards....

Well I have a 64 A1 so how does that fit into a 66 starting contract for A1's?

Rick....
Ages ago I remember you telling me that your vehicle had the early and late floor drains combination.....one front drain was the ring-pull type and the other front drain was the louver-type. At the time, I had an old Tech Bulletin Equipment Improvement Report and Maintenance Digest dated July 1966 and in that TB was a reference to a batch of 200 vehicles being delivered with this combination of floor-pans (early on the right, late on the left). These vehicles were in the "2G-series" and were delivered between April 1965 and June 1965.... and thus, I was able to say that yours would have been delivered in that timescale. I still have that TB and I re-checked it a few minutes ago.

Those vehicles were all built under Ford's DA20-113-AMC-02787-(T)-(MYP) contract. Unless I'm thinking about a different Rick, your A1 is from that 02787 Contract.

The engine block in that Craigslist ad is from the 07507 Vehicle Contract (the engine contract itself was 07506).

The first delivery of the 07507 contract began around Feb 1966 while the last of the 02787 contract ran to March 1967....there was an overlap of the old and new contract deliveries which lasted for 13 months.
