Door curtain retainer channels For Sale

Unread post by m3a1 » April 17th, 2020, 8:06 pm

Look what I found today!

I have precisely two replica door curtain retainer channels for sale. Make your Alley Cat or Titan or Encore look just a tiny bit more like the real thing.

They are a bit longer than the top or the bottom channels. You trim to the proper length and angle. I suspect the channel on these is just a tiny bit larger than original.

As per usual, make me a fair and sensible offer. And if you really want them, make me an offer that's a tiny little bit better than fair, or sensible. Buyer pays shipping expenses.

Cheers,
TJ

I've had a couple of people ask about these parts recently. Should have no problem selling them.

They look like the old Fla. tactical repros. I used them on mine. Hey Guy, Maybe you should get them from TJ and see about duplicating them. They are a very needed item when replacing panels.

I have a section from my A1 that I can copy. The edge is hemmed on the originals. I'm not sure about the radius, whether it's standard tooling or something different. Now that we are starting to offer full side panels, this part will move up on the "to do" list.

I was thinking you could roll the groove in but too close to the side. But if you rolled several grooves on a sheet and then cut them right at the edge of the roll......................

Just fabricating as I type here.

If you look at the original parts closely, you will see that the open edge is rolled back against itself, so you don't have a raw metal edge.

I think Guy's (and my) observations are spot on. These can actually lay OVER originals so I say again, these are a tiny bit larger than the originals and I repeat, I only have two. That's enough to do one side (top and bottom) or two sides (lowers)... that, presuming you're using an original windshield, gets the job done..

Thanks for all the interest and good comments!

Cheers,
TJ
