Large shipment of parts for sale.

Unread post by rickf » December 15th, 2020, 4:10 pm

Here is a list of parts I am selling as of the moment. The list will be added to and substracted from as parts are sold. The prices are under the going prices from everywhere I have checked so please do not try to lowball me. If you think you can get it cheaper then by all means do so. I am not trying to get rich on this stuff, I am only trying to recoup my investment and in the process others will benefit. I have pictures of just about all of this stuff and can get pics of anything I missed.

NOS head - 400.00
A2 gas tank in excellent condition inside and out, no fittings 450.00
Holley carburetor - I had these apart and they are complete and very clean inside and out 400.00
A2 NOS steering column 125.00
A2 steering box - 250.00
Differential yoke for driveshaft - 30.00
Differential yoke for axle - 30.00
Front drive shaft, NOS - 65.00
Rear drive shaft, NOS - 150.00
Horn - 25.00
A2 brake light switches - 25.00
Speedometer - 50.00
Pedal assembly, reconditioned - 150.00
Rear bumperettes - 65.00
Army front bumper, NOS - 65.00
Fording plate for dash, NOS - 20.00
Hood hold downs, NOS - 6.00

There will be more to come but I want to see what the reaction here is before I decide to keep going here or go to Ebay.

It's funny how everyone wanted these parts all the way up to the point that I advertised them with a price tag on them and then nobody is interested anymore. Even though my prices are lower than all the prices I could find. Just goes to show that people want everything for nothing. I will leave what I have advertised on here for a while but as much as I hate to I am going to put this and the rest of it on the Facebook 151 page and on E-bay. I need to unload this stuff and if there is no interest in what I have shown, which was all of the stuff from the original list that was asked for then I am not going to waste time putting the rest of it up.

Rick,

I wouldn't get discouraged. You might find that with Christmas next week people are holding onto their cash. I see this in body panel orders this time of year. They drop off some and pick back up in February. This is normal. Also, you will find a much larger audience (and probably interest) on the face book machine. I know you and others don't like that avenue as there is a higher percentage of smack-offs, but it is what it is.

There is also a very high percentage of very poor and scary information given out on that Facebook platform! That is one of the reasons I don't go there. I can give advice based on almost 50 years of professional automotive experience and be told I have no idea what I am talking about. And THEN listen to that person tell everyone else how I am a know it all and how what I say is the only way. yada, yada, yada. No, Not for me. Now that I think of it I may just go with E-bay.

Yes, you are correct. However, you are listing parts for sale, not giving advice. That's pretty straight forward. With e-bay, you'll have the fees, face plant, you may (or may not) have the drama. Pick your door! Good luck.

Hello Rick....
please don't be disappointed. Your list has only been up for three days and as Guy mentions.... we are ony 4 days away from Christmas, then New Year. No-one I know would risk buying something that could end up sitting in the sorting office of the postal service for for the holiday period. Patience, Lieutenant !

Good point, The USPS has lost a money order of mine and I am now left waiting for a bullet mold I had planned on using over the holidays. I can't even claim it lost until 30 days has past. But, Like I said, I need this stuff moved so I will wail a little while and then it gets shuffled. If it does not move there then at least I know I am stuck with it until people realize I am NOT going down on price. Ricky don't play that game! You don't buy it now then once the items dry up some more and everyone else raises their prices, well guess what? So do I.

I am waiting on a price for the axles. I still have to work out pricing on either a complete built unit or a do it yourself kit. As I said before, this will not be a cheap modification either way.

looks like fair prices to me, but I have only fixed a couple of 151's, I think most comments are correct as its close to Christmas and our jeeps aren't the only thing on our minds........good luck and Ebay is still a great way to get top dollar on many items...........
