Rear fenders, no lifting eyes although you can see it had ROPS in it. I keep telling people they DID put ROPS in some A1's if they were still in service after a set time.

Edited it to say A1. I admit I didn't give it a good look. The rear suspension should have been a no brainer.

You have to remember there are a lot of cuts out there with A1 fronts and A2 rears and vice versa. Bubba was lookin' for a huntin' rig and he had a welder, he didn't care what it was made of as long as it got the job done.

A trailer with zero tongue weight is usually very bad news! They tend to fishtail, sometimes to the point of losing control. That is called "tail wagging the dog" and the end result is never pretty. Kind of makes me wonder if that isn't why it is for sale.

The tongue on a 416 is not exactly light even unloaded but it all depends on how you load it. I pulled one with 144 20mm ammo cans 650 miles, half of which was in a snowstorm and the other half at 65 MPH with no issues at all. Same with my 116 trailers but they all have positive tongue weight. The video that Horst put up is a bit drastic on the ratio, 60% of a 5,000 lb. trailer load would be 3,000 lb. tongue weight!!!! Better have a class 5 hitch and a strong truck and frame. 10-15% is the accepted figures.

Reading those figures on that video again they say 60% of the load should be up front. Really it should say 60% of the load should be forward of the axles. A 60/40 split would give you closer to 20% on the tongue but that is acceptable as long as the hitch as vehicle are set up to handle the weight.
