Searchlight for MUTT, M151A2, Gama Goat

Unread post by Bill, Idaho » January 5th, 2023, 5:16 pm

Dear Sirs:
I have been a member here since 2007. Admittedly I haven't posted in quite some time, for several reasons. One being-- life has gotten in the way, divorce and all the things related. However, my health has been influential in that it has created difficulties with me being able to enjoy my vehicles as I once did. To the point of gathering the kids around the table and having "the talk". I was very up front and blunt with them, and they were as honest with me. Bottom line, none of them have any interest in any of my rigs. Therefore I guess they need to go to good homes. I have amassed quite a herd of rigs and extras, and I need them to go. I will price everything quite fairly, borderline bargain basement. I don't do electronic money, or checks, so cash is about it. My prices are firm and trades for anything aren't an option. No Bubbas worked on any of these!! Everything is done correctly. I am located near Boise Idaho, and shipping is on the buyer. Sadly, I cannot assist much with loading, etc.

Here we go:
3.) GSS-1----yes, the correct searchlight for a MUTT. This is exactly like a VSS-1, only specifically for a MUTT. Included is the 180 amp generator and cable that powers the light. Worked last time I fired it up (I had to get FAA clearance due to being near an airport!!) $3000

And my pride and joy........this one hurts more than the others--
5.) 1973 Condec M561 Gama Goat. Low miles. Desert Camo. Extra tire and rim. Needs brake cylinders and batteries. Brake cylinders rebuild kits are identical to M715, and are easy to find. You don't even need to pull the tire off to work on the brakes! No cab, no doors. Extra (fiberglass) dog house for the transmission. I think there is a truss kit laying around somewhere. This is truly a one-of-a-kind Goat, as it was restored to its original configuration- a RATT rig, but without the S250 shelter. Every known RATT rig used an S250 shelter to keep the comm gear out of the weather, for some reason this one did not. It has a GRC106 AM radio, a GRR5 receiver, an RT246 radio, an RT 524 radio, an R442 receiver, a VRC240T radio, an AM241T amplifier, a GRC142 teletype, an MD522 modem, A VIC-1 intercom, and a TA838 Field phone. (Google the radios for more details regarding freqs, etc.), All the radios are in working order except for the GRC106, which apparently does not transmit. ( I never tried it, that's what I was told when I bought it. Everything is correct. All the antennas and antenna mast/towers are correct. (I have been told this thing needs to be in a museum for all the comm gear.) $18,000.

Gentlemen, I have some other odds and ends laying around. I do not want to sub-divide any of comm gear out of the goat. Thank you for looking.

Ah hell, at the risk of sounding insensitive this one is going to eat at me for some time. I've seen previously posted pics. I got the cash and would take the a2 and 416 yesterday... I just wish we were way closer.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I wish you the best.

Very sorry to hear you feel it's time to part with your vehicles.

Fellas, that's a once-in-a-lifetime deal on a Gama Goat and Ggoats are the most fun you'll ever have with your clothes still on (and still remain conscious). Finding one with all the goodies....almost unheard of!

Master cylinder is really rather simple to replace and, yup, you can still get NOS ones. These are massive master cylinders and if push came to shove, getting one overhauled by an expert shouldn't present much of a problem.

It would sure help if you'd post at least a few pics of your trucks!

All the best,
TJ

(I should have been more specific--- I meant the wheel cylinders, the master cylinder is still good as far as I know.)

Bill, really sorry to hear about your circumstances. I would jump on the Gamma Goat or 5 ton in a heartbeat but like Surveyor, too far away and transport would cost as much as purchase. The 5 ton could just be driven I am sure. But then in my case is storage. I don't have a garage big enough. I don't think you will have any problems selling at those prices and I will be kicking myself for not jumping.

HI Bill, we talked often as I was restoring my Gama Goat a few years ago, I lost the link but there is a video of your Gama Goat on youtube at a shopping center, I forget what town but perhaps you remember, also another video where a guy cruising by your house spotted your MV's and posted on youtube. Sorry to hear about the liquidation sale it must be tough on you, I am in Maine just about as far away as one could be, sure would like to see the collection and meet in person but that's just the way it goes. Please keep us updated, good luck Bill.

Mark

PS I sold the Gama Goat to a museum in Nebraska 2 years ago.

The MUTT and the M416 are sold.

Dear mods, I don't know how to modify the title of this thread to show the MUTT and M416 are no longer available. Can you advise?

Bill, I am not sure if you see the same thing as I since I am the admin but on your post that you want to change you should see some blocks to the right of the title on the post. If you hover over the first one which looks like a pen it should say edit. Click on that and you should be able to highlight the items that are gone and delete them. If you can't do that let me know what you want changed and I will do it for you.

I just logged in with your permissions and I can see that apparently you cannot edit your posts after posting, I will have to look into that. Check and let me know. I am assuming you want to delete #1 and #2 from your listing?

Ok, Bill, I deleted the first two items. I did not do anything with the header since you are still selling the searchlight and that is related to the mutt so I figured you might want to leave the M151A2 part there for now. I can change it if need be. Hope your health is holding out, this getting old really sucks. I am going to be unloading a whole lot of parts soon, as soon as I get them all here at home and in one place and organized.

Rickf, could you remove the 5 ton (#2). I tried, but as usual, it hates me. All I have left is the Gama Goat, the Searchlight, a few small trailers, and odds-n-ends.
Thanks!
