WTB NOS GAUGES

Unread post by jeeps@HQ6 » January 16th, 2022, 9:28 pm

Hello everyone, I am looking for nos Stewart Warner fuel, oil, temp and battery indicator. I am restoring a 1973 AF Mutt for the 2022 mvpa show. Any help would be great. God Bless.

Welcome to the g838 Mark. Sounds like a nice project you have going there. I have a bunch of gauges I got in a buyout of stock. I know some are NOS but I don't know if they are S/W. I am guessing you are going for absolutely correct on this build? Did they still use S/W gauges as late as 73?

Hello Rick,

It seems 73 was a weird year, especially mid 73 where where other changes took place on the 71 contract like pre-emissions to emissions, etc, small but some minor changes. From what I can gather, early 73 is good to go, but there is so much misinformation out there that I am not 100% sure myself. If you can better point me, I would appreciate it. Also, you can check out my restoration and build on you tube. just search jeeps at hq6 as its spelled here, and you should be able to find it. I found this mutt in texas, and it still had a bergstrom afb sticker on the dash with hood numbers of 73k301 under the farmers camo paint job he put on it to use as a pig hunting rig. Again, thank you for your help and I will chat at you later Sir.

Mark, send an e-mail to Ken the Muttguru at muttguru@aol.com and include pics of the data plate and the Body tag if it still has it on the transmission tunnel. That number is something that was either assigned or made up, it is not an official number. Ken has all the info on just about anything you will need to know about the vehicle.

Thanks Rick. I have emailed him a lot with questions starting several years ago, as well as a month back or so. He has been most helpful and a pleasure to converse with. I am interested in purchasing some gauges if you wanna send me a private message. Thanks again.

I don't think you have access to PM's yet. You need 10 posts first. I hated having to do that but the spammers were getting out of control and that was one of several measures I had to take to get thinks back kind of under control. I have to take a trip tomorrow that will take most of the day so I will not be able to got to them until Wednesday. I know I do not have a full set if I do have any at all. But I will see what I have. I will get some pics and e-mail them to you.
I sent you a PM, see if you get it and then see if you can respond.

I finally got out to check those gauges and all of the gauges I have are Faria. I mean ALL of them! Used, NOS and even the ones in my 64 and the several dashboards I have. I will have to look under the tarp and see what the ones in my M37 are. You have me curious now.
