Headlights??

Unread post by Elvis Presley » April 7th, 2019, 1:25 am

Anyone have any used headlights for sale or perhaps a set of yellow ones??
I haven’t seen any for sale in quite sometime.
Any suggestions on a source would also be appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

I needed some recently and found that a number of suppliers had correct sealed beams gathering dust in their store rooms. Of course that is no use to you as I am in Australia, but given that this is in a town of some 160,000 people I would imagine there would be plenty in the US.

After dropping a couple  I dug up some headlights of the correct size that take H4 bulbs and picked up a couple of H4 on eBay for a good price. The end result was much better light.

Thanks Howard!! It's true they are like two fireflies in a jar compared to new stuff!! Housings that accept H4's would be cool - the older I get, the harder it is to see at night.

Have a great day!

I put the later style LED headlights on mine. They may not be original but when I need to drive at night at least I can see. I can see with this better than any of my modern vehicles!

I bought LED headlights for my Defender on eBay for much less than that and they have been fine. The old lights were the source of my H4 lights for the MUTT.

Yep, I SHURE am.

If it makes you feel any better these were the third generation lights and they supposedly had issues with blowing out. Mine still work.

I just use the Wagner or Westinghouse 4800 Sealed Beams, I cut the pig tail's off the old bulb and wire them into the 3 prong connector, done deal. I was lucky enough to pick up a dozen for about $12.00 each about 5 years ago. :D 8)
