Looking for lifting hub centers for a M151

Unread post by Anarchy99 » December 10th, 2020, 8:36 pm

Like the title states, and dont beat me up too bad if that's the wrong nomenclature, but I'm looking for the lifting type centers that go on the hubs of a m151. I'm not sure if there special hardware to attach them or not, looks like they just sandwich between the hub and the wheel.

Definitely the anti-social type...

Just an fyi - make sure your hubs have threads in them. I bought a set of lifting eyes and I then discovered my hubs have no threads to receive them, so they are now sitting in the manger... Another lesson learned the hard way.

Those unthreaded wheel spindles could be rarities. The first batches of straight M151 models came with unthreaded spindles and push-fit hub caps.
The Mil issued an MWO at the end of 1961 to remove the unthreaded spindles and replace with the ones we all know....threaded ones.
The unthreaded hubs were supposed to be disposed of but there's a possibility that one or more very early M151s were never modified and were sold off in that condition. Or maybe a dealer bought them from the DRMO and didn't know what exactly they were.
Your spindles could well be these early ones.
Ken
Kind regards....
